A good golf ball
I usually play with Pro V1 balls and I worked these Callaway golf balls into my game to see how they compared. The short of it is, I had pretty much the same game with the Callaway balls as I usually have. A couple of differences I noted between the two types of balls were that the Callaways didn't feel as soft as the Pro V1s and they also didn't scuff as easily as the Pro V1 balls. Perhaps the latter is due to the hexagonal shaped dimples.
Despite the differences in softness, I still hit my drives the same distance and I couldn't discern any changes in my puts. I've tried the balls on three different courses now, and I play the same as always. I was hoping to miraculously improve my game with the help of these balls, but I knew that was a long shot. As it stands, I'd be happy to play with either the Callaways or the Pro V1s. It would just come down to which was less expensive and how much water was on the course for me to lose a ball.

Perfect for Moderate Swing Speeds
This ball is an excellent choice for the mid to low swing speed. I am a senior player with a club head speed of about 85. I have tried everything out there and this ball behaves the best. Good soft feel with predictable spin around the greens. Excellent distance off the driver with a penetrating trajectory. I am getting an extra 10 yards. Even with the low spin off the driver, the Chrome allows me to work the ball either right or left. Other low compression balls lack workability. Choose this ball if you are working down to breaking 90 or a mid to high 80s player like me.
Excellent Upgrade
Callaway Hex Chrome golf balls are an excellent upgrade from the average golf ball. They have an excellent feel off the tee and lower spin for chip shots.
For the good golfer looking to upgrade as his game improves, these are a really good choice. The ball goes exactly where aimed with a nice soft feel. On drives, these balls give a lot of confidence. They aren't barn burners with extra distance, but they deliver exactly where shot. Around the green, chipping, they don't have a lot of spin. This is a good thing for most golfers; slightly lower spin on chips allows the ball to roll farther. High spin balls are a lot harder to control for most golfers.
Callaway has created a really nice golf ball built for most golfers. It hits a really nice price point, exactly between the normal ball and those really expensive tour balls, like the ProV1 and Callaway's Hex Tour Black. I liked these balls a lot, a good balanced performance.
